Penny was born and raised in sunny California to brave Cambodian refugees. From music shows to road trips to snow topped mountains she followed her heart and eventually found herself in a treehouse on Kauai in the 90's.

After a potent trip to Cambodia in 2001 Penny felt moved by what her ancestors had endured through the Khmer Rouge and vowed to never let a dream slip by unattended again. She would live and love with full abandon for all her lineage.

Enamored with art & beauty Penny spent many years as a photographer from LA to Fiji to Kauai until she accepted yet another call. This time it was to devote her path to plants, the powerful lessons they teach us and how they help us heal.

After attending the New York Institute of Aromatherapy in 2014 Penny had found her new favorite thing. She toted around a small bag of empty bottles and various oils, gifting friends with her concoctions. As her creations were continually received with heartfelt enthusiasm, over time she realized she had something special. 

Aware of the media and beauty industry’s harmful addiction to the exterior, Penny knew the world was in desperate need of more humans creating from a place of depth and celebration of the full human experience.

On a devoted path of personal growth, healing and transformation, Penny set out to alchemize a face & body oil that would not only help satiate, repair and protect the skin but also awaken us to our own innate sensuality, our inherent wisdom and connection to all things.

Since its official launch to the world in the spring of 2023 Songsaa’s Signature No1 Oil has continued to transform lives with its purpose driven unique formula and intoxicating & healing aroma.
